Gold watches have an allure that is unmistakable. Most of us have never owned a gold timepiece and that is largely due to the fact that they used to be so expensive. In the past, gold wristwatches were more solid and in turn much more costly, but today’s models are sometimes plated gold over stainless-steel. The look is fantastic and the price is pretty attractive, as well. The plating is done in a way that appears quite luxurious and elegant. I just received my new gold Michael Kors watch and I can’t take it off, so whether you are looking at a $200 gold model or one that sells for $2,000…you definitely can’t go wrong with gold this season. Let’s take a closer look at some of the gold collections on the market right now:
- I have to talk up Michael Kors first. Let’s face it, these are great designer looks for a fraction of the cost of other famous makers. Michael Kors understands value and that many of us are on a tight budget. They offer much in the way of gold timepieces. The model I bought was the women’s chronograph in yellow gold, but I struggled over the decision of yellow versus rose gold; both were stunning and both around $200, in fact all of the gold Michael Kors watches were priced at just around $200, which I find fascinating because they look so extravagant.
- Of course, there are other designer makers that offer gold watches, as well. The prices might not be as attractive, but there’s no denying they are well made watches. Omega offers a gold dial Constellation that is just breathtaking. The Omega name means high standards of quality and Swiss engineering and the style is timeless. This piece will set you back around $4,700, which is quite a bit of difference from the Michael Kors model.
- And if you really want to go gold crazy…check out the Hublot Big Bang in red gold. Although Hublot is a well respected name in the watch industry…their prices are kind of out of the ballpark for most of us. This particular model runs around $28,000, yep that was 3 zeros behind the 28.
Since I like to be able to change my mind once in a while…I think I’ll stick with my beautiful gold Michael Kors watch. It looks great, works well, and keeps a little change in my pocket.
